Residents Forum and Abstract Submission
It is our pleasure to announce that we are now accepting abstracts exclusively from California dermatology program residents to present a CPC case at the California Society of Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery (CalDerm) 2017 Symposium on Saturday, September 16, 2017. The 2017 CalDerm Annual Meeting will be held at The Fess Parker DoubleTree Resort in Santa Barbara, CA.
Those that are completing residency programs prior to September 2017 are not eligible to apply for the Forum, however all graduating residents in 2017 are offered a discounted registration fee of $50 for the entire meeting.
Presentations will be in standard AAD Gross and Microscopic format. Each case presentation should be clinically instructive, limited to no more than five (5) minutes in length, and must be delivered in Power Point format. If time permits, questions will be taken from the audience at the conclusion of all presentations. Abstracts for cases that have either been previously submitted for other meetings or events, or are currently being considered for other meetings or events are acceptable. Published cases are not accepted.
Due to high volume of submissions, residents may submit only one (1) abstract per CalDerm event. A total of six (6) abstracts will be selected to be presented at the Annual Meeting. CalDerm selects presenters based upon the topic and quality of the abstracts.
Each resident selected will receive a $400 travel stipend from CalDerm in the form of a check to be personally picked up by the resident at the conclusion of the Symposium and full registration to the entire meeting. Registration to the Symposium is discounted to $50 for all residents regardless of whether they are selected to present.
Selected abstracts will be judged by the CalDerm Board of Directors and the top three presentations will be awarded a highly rated dermatology text book donated by Elsevier Publishing Company.
Please e-mail your Residents Forum abstract to CalDerm at email@example.com along with complete contact information (name, mailing address, phone and email address), residency program name and year of residency training at the time of the presentation. Please have this information on your actual abstract. The subject line of your email should be: Residents Forum Abstract Submission
The abstract will be limited to a one page, Word document in 12 pt., single spaced and contain the title of the presentation. Deadline to submit is Tuesday, July 25. Selected applicants will be notified on August 11, 2017 or sooner.
CalDerm values participation from California residents at this meeting and ask that you encourage your fellow residents to apply. Should you have any questions, please contact CalDerm Executive Director, Karmi Ferguson, at (866) 337-DERM 3376 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
